Royal Thai Police Technology Crime Suppression Division visits with CPP

The delegates of the Policy and Law Enforcement Study Tour from Canada, CPP Director, Suzanne Williams, and representatives from the RCMP visited the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) of the Royal Thai Police on March 3, 2011.

 

TCSD briefed the delegation on the overview of their operations, associated agencies, challenges on suppression of ICT crimes and relevant legislation.

In an article discussing the issue of child pornography in Canada, CPP Partner RCMP NCECC's Sgt. Jacqueline Basque of the National Child Exploitation Co-ordination Centre in Ottawa said it's hard to keep up with the changing technology.

 

"It no doubt hinders our investigation because we have to keep up with it, but we deal a lot with the Internet service providers, plus we deal with Microsoft, Yahoo, and Facebook," she said.
