At the top table were the partners in this research – the host organization Obra do Berca (an NGO based in a Favela), Plan Brazil, CPP and 4 young girls aged 11-13 (two from Favela and two from a private school).

In Maranhão, Brazil, children took action about the use of “sex bracelets” (brightly coloured bracelets worn by teenagers in a game where certain colours represent specific sexual acts) in their schools after educating themselves about the meaning behind sex bracelets on the Internet.

This article, written by KJ Mitchell , D Finkelhor, and J Wolak and published in 2007, explores changes in the prevalence of youth Internet users reporting unwanted sexual solicitations between 2000 and 2005, as well as the risk factors related to reports of the most serious solicitations, aggressive solicitations, in which solicitors attempted or made offline contact with youth.
