Thai Police Partners Welcome CPP in Banglamung

On 10 December 2010, CPP Project Manager, Chris Yeomans together with CPP Thailand Project Manager, Jamnan Panpatama, and Plan International Thailand's Child Rights Advisor and CPP Special Advisor, visited the Children and Women Protection and Prevention of Human Trafficking Centre of the Police Region 2 in Banglamung, Pattaya City.

Members of the CPP Children and ICT Policy Working Group met for the 5th time on 7 December 2010 at the Windsor Suites Hotel in Bangkok, to move forward the draft policy paper and support NICFD's ICT Child, Family and Society Development Centre.

Canadian Partner Helps Strengthen Thai Partnerships

Partners of CPP Thailand gathered at a Progress Assessment and Lessons Learned Workshop, at the Windsor Suites Hotel, in Bangkok Thailand on 7-8 December 2010.
 
The workshop aimed to provide opportunities for partners of CPP to collectively recognize and celebrate its program achievements from 2008 to date and share the progress of the program and lessons learned.

Microsoft and Public Safety Partners to Tackle Emerging Public Safety Trends

Today, January 6, 2011, at the Worldwide Public Safety Symposium, in Redmond, Washington, USA, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer outlined the ways that the company’s innovative technology and vast partner ecosystem will tackle the 21st century’s four core emerging public safety technology trends: cloud-based solutions, cybersecurity, unified communications and social media in public safety. This includes news that Microsoft will begin exploring how to support its Child Exploitation Tracking System (CETS) in the cloud.

Facebook Finally has a Panic Button!

Facebook finally has a “panic button”.  Social networking sites have been working with child protection agencies to install an application that is intended to protect children online.
 
For the first time, Facebook users will be able to contact a number of online resources for help if they encounter any suspicious behavior. This site works with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, according to AFP.com.
