Children Share Their Views on ICT Training in Brazil

We had a very productive two days in Sao Luis. The Create workbook and training was extremely well received!

Circle of Rights Training Session Held in São Luís, Maranhão (Brazil)

On Sept 28th, CPP Special Advisor Micheal Montgomery and M&E Evaluator Rebeccah Nelems, along with CPP Brazil Manager Luiz Rossi and Coordinator Emilia Bretan, delivered training of the last phase of the Circle of Rights process, the Create Phase.

Thai Curriculum Improved with Children's Positive Contributions

A meeting was held on September 29, 2010, at the National Institute for Child and Family Development (NICFD), Mahidol University, to review a 2-day CPP training workshop on ICT Child Protection Curriculum recently organized for teachers and students of Baan Thung Ngao School in Ranong, Southern Province of Thailand

Kids Take Control and Interact Online at Because I am a Girl Launch

 On September 22nd, 2010 the CPP Brazil team and partners promoted the launch of Plan International's report “Digital and Urban Frontiers: Girls in a Changing Landscape” that includes research conducted in Brazil by the CPP team with the participation of children involved in CPP's Circle of Rights activities.

 

Baan Thung Ngao School Teachers Receive CPP Draft Curriculum

CPP Thailand held a 2-day teacher workshop on the draft CPP ICT Child Protection curriculum activities from September 25-26, 2010 for about 50 teachers and students of Baan Thung Ngao School in Ranong province, in the Southern part of Thailand.
 
The workshop discussed advantages and risks of use of mobile phones, Internet and online games. The participants had lots of fun in the group activities.
 

CPP Special Advisor meets with Canadian Consulate in Sao Paulo, Brazil

On September 23, 2010, CPP Special Advisor, Micheal Montgomery, along with CPP Brazil Manager, Luiz Rossi, met with representatives of the Canadian Consulate in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
 
The purpose of the meeting was to update the Consulate on recent CPP activities and to discuss possible collaborations on the project.

CPP Director TV Interview

In recognition of important research undertaken by CPP in Brazil towards Plan International's 2010 "Because I am a Girl" report, CPP Director Suzanne Williams was interviewed by CTV, a Vancouver, British Columbia, Canadian television station.
 
Suzanne was asked to comment on the issue of adolescent girls and online use, a major theme in the 2010 report titled "Digital and Urban Frontiers: Girls in a Changing Landscape"

The Urban and Digital Divide – Same City: Different World

I spent international "Because I am a Girl" (BIAAG) Day at the launch of the BIAAG Report by CPP in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
 
At the top table were the partners in this research – the host organization Obra do Berca (an NGO based in a Favela), Plan Brazil, CPP and 4 young girls aged 11-13 (two from Favela and two from a private school).
