A roundtable was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil last week with youth mediators - teenagers from Viração magazine (www.revistaviracao.org.br), who transmitted online chat via twitcam at Safernet, demonstrating positive uses of  techonology,

This event, supported by Safernet, marked Safer Internet Day in São Paulo, with the presence of CPP Brazil’s Special Advisor, Micheal Montgomery, and Emilia Bretan, CPP Brazil Project Manager, Teresa Jordão and Claudia Stippe from Paramitas Institute, Rodrigo Nejm from Safernet and Fernanda Domingos from the Federal Prosecutor. Other institutions, like CDI-Lan (Rafael Pires) were present.

It was a pleasant event that held exciting discussions about ICT uses and misuses and about how we can better protect our children. The event also highlighted how can we try to actively engage youth in their own protection.

Viração magazine is a prize winning institution that is a pioneer in engaging young people in action. It is now a youth news agency and always promotes youth prominence in innovative ways.

Happy Safer Internet Day!
- Emilia and Micheal
