For outgoing Waraporn Yamprasert, a senior student at Banglamung School, using information and communication technology (ICT) in the wrong sense can lure adolescents can lure adolescents into a life of vice and exploitation. However, in a positive light, it can also be used as a vehicle to facilitate knowledge that can offer them a bright future.

Thai ICT Curriculum Revised for Community Use

The Thai curriculum revising meeting and training session was held on 22 March, 2011 at the Social Development Centre, Unit 12, in Mae Chun, Chiang Rai to discuss the development of the ICT and child proection curriculum. The focus of the meeting was on the adjustment of the curriculum used for school so that the curriculum could be used at the local community level.

 

Canadian Study Tour Delegation on Policy and Law Enforcement Visits Pattaya

On March 4, 2011, the Canadian delegation of the CPP Policy and Law Enforcement Study Tour, including CPP Director and Deputy & Legal Director of IICRD, Suzanne Williams, met with police officials of the Children and Women Protection Centre of Police Region 2 of the Royal Thai Police, representatives from Pattaya City and governmental and non-governmental organizations at the Banglamung Police Station, in Pattaya, Chonburi Province, Thailand.

 

NICFD and IICRD-CPP sign MOU

An inter-institutional agreement between the National Institute for Child and Family Development (NICFD) and the International Institute for Child Rights and Development (IICRD) was signed and celebrated on April 4, 2011 at the University of Victoria in Canada. 

 

Parent ICT Training a Huge Success

CPP collaborated with the Internet Foundation for the Development of Thailand to organize a Parent and Children ICT training session at Banglamung School to create awareness, educate both children and parents on prevention of online risks and promote the creative use of ICT.

 

Thai Curriculum Experts Heading Back to Banglamung School

Thai Curriculum Experts gathered to discuss the final draft of the CPP ICT Child Protection Curriculum at the third meeting of the CPP National Advisory Committee on Curriculum in Bangkok, on January 25, 2011.

A Big Thanks to the Policy Working Group in Thailand!

The 6th meeting of the Children and ICT Policy Working Group was held on December 20th, 2010, at the Grand Diamond Hotel in Bangkok.
 
The meeting was held to continue discussing action plans for drafting a policy recommendation paper, the development of strategies on ICT Child Protection and the action plan for NICFD to establish an 'ICT Child, Family and Society Development Centre'.
